If you listen to the audio of the entire segment of Imus' show (which I can't find right now), they're talking about what happens in clubs with people drinking and getting rowdy and carrying guns.

During that part of the conversation, Imus is (albeit quietly) expressing his actual surprise that Pac-Man Jones is being targeted by the police. You can hear him saying "What?" and "Why?" when Warner Wolf is talking about the police arresting Jones six times. When he made the comment that some people are calling "racist", he was saying it to mean that Jones was being unfairly targeted for arrest by police because he is African-American.

Most news outlets aren't playing the entire conversation, so it makes his "What color is he?" and "Well there you go... now we know" comments seem racist... when Imus was actually POINTING OUT racism on the part of the police.

Oh, and... Arthur Chi'en is the LAST person who should be doing reports about saying the wrong things while on a live broadcast:
