Ya gotta love LiveLeak.com (http://www.liveleak.com/) and Break.com (http://www.break.com/) for allowing videos like this to be posted.

If you post stuff like this on YouTube, it almost immediately gets "flagged" by the anti-war crowd... which means that the video is either taken down, or that you have to register at YouTube to view the video (which is just another hurdle that the anti-war folks know a lot of people won't deal with)... so the videos don't get viewed.

I love the guys in the first video firing what I believe is the Gustav rocket (correct me if I'm wrong on that... when I was in the Army, we only had the LAW rocket... yeah, I'm old). It's amazing to fire those things... because the explosion is behind and in front of you. While everyone around you hears a massive explosion as the rocket is fired, the person firing it doesn't experience the explosion as much... and can usually hear the "click" of the trigger as the rocket fires.

Yeah, they do flag a lot of em and get rid of em, dirty bastards, and that was an AT-4 Rocket, firing it all you hear is a "click......WHOOSH...." but the backblast will either knock you on your ass or most likely kill you........

Ahh... of course that's an AT-4... the Gustav is actually a type of recoilless "rifle" with actual pistol grips on it... I should have noticed that.

Yeah... the LAW had a backblast of 30-40 meters. On the U.S. Weapons Demonstration Range, they placed two silhouette rifle targets BEHIND the soldiers who were demonstrating the LAWs, so we could see the effects of the backblast... when the two LAWS were fired, the targets disappeared (they were blown backwards about 50 meters).

I remember shouting "BACKBLAST AREA ALL-CLEAR!!" just before squeezing the trigger... that was always an adrenaline rush... because you knew that you were about to unleash some serious firepower that the average civilian didn't even know existed.

We "ACCIDENTLY" broke the charging handel off our AT-4 so we couldn't use it. So of course we had to go out and destroy it and of course you can charge an AT-4 with a pair of pliers. We where supposed to shoot it with a 50 cal. but that didn't happen. We found an abandond runway out in the desert with destroyed tanks on it so we shot one. Bad ass.

I was cold war early 80's. Aco 1/32nd armor. Only got shot at one time. I was on guard duty and about 15 anti american fucks started popping caps at the night guards in the tank park. I hopped in my tank and started shootin main gun rounds. We had 6 tanks blasting at the fucks.

Haha, me too, just a coupla close calls and scars, but chicks dig scars. :D I keep a small jar on my desk with 15 pieces of shrapnel that were taken out of me after an IED hit, good conversation starter there.......seriously though, good to hear the support from people, been plenty of places where you get shit on by ignorant cocksuckers.

One thing that really stood out was a night out drinking with my boys about a week after I got home, bartender at the club saw my USMC tattoo, asked me about where I've been and shit, needless to say, spent the whole night drinking free and pretty much became a celebrity there....good to go..... :cool:
